Abstract
This work aimed to evaluate the in-vitro antioxidant activity and antibacterial activity of Cassia auriculata Linn. This belongs to the family Fabaceae/Caesalpiniaceous. The potential antioxidant activity of the extract was screened using tests such as DPPH assay, ABTS. + Free radical scavenging assay and hydrogen peroxide-scavenging assay. The in-vitro antioxidant assays showed that the plant extract also possessed antimicrobial and antioxidant activity and exhibits vigorous defensive activity against the tested microorganisms. Therefore, C.auriculata Linn. Could be considered beneficial for the production of nutraceuticals as effective antioxidants to treat numerous human ailments.
