Abstract
Floristic diversity study was conducted during 2019 to 2021 to prepare the checklist of angiosperm flora in rural areas of Bayad taluka of Aravalli district of Gujarat state. An attempt has been made to collect and document the plant species of the study area, as the area was taxonomically unexplored earlier. The area occupies mostly cropland with semi-arid biogeographical region as per classification given by Roger, Power & Mathur (2000). The area falls under arid to semi-arid climatic zone of Gujarat. As per the Champain and Seth classification (1968), the area has tropical dry deciduous forest. During the present study a total of 471 plant species have been recorded belonging to 323 genera of 90 Angiosperm families. In the study plant species across the Bayad taluka have been collected and identified with the help of different available regional floras and scientific articles. During the study habit, habitat, flowering-fruting seasons, locality, etc were recorded of each collected species and their herbarium was prepared.
