Floristic diversity and phytosociological studies of selected area in Ariyalur district, Tamil Nadu, India

Abstract
Assessment on the floristic diversity in Karuppusamy sacred grove near Thathanur in the Ariyalur district of Tamil Nadu, India, was carried out during 2020-2021. In the study, a total of 121 plant species were recorded belonged to 104genera distributed among 50 families, are Angiosperms. Fabaceae (8 species) is a dominant family followed by Asclepiadaceae, Mimosaceae (7 species), Euphorbiaceae, (6 species), and 5 species each from Rubiaceae and Poaceae. The diversity indices namely the Shannon-Weiner index, Simpson index, and evenness index, etc., were analyzed.
